State Tax Incentive Programs: Deferrals, Exemptions, and Credits
New and existing manufacturers, research and development firms, and certain high technology companies can benefit from several tax incentives offered by the state of Washington. The following program summaries are provided by the WA Department of Revenue:
The Washington State Legislature passed a landmark bill in 2003, providing significant tax and other incentives for the Washington State aerospace manufacturing industry. In 2008, these incentives were extended to companies involved with aerospace design, tooling, maintenance, repair and overhaul activities.
- Reduced B&O Tax Rate for Aerospace Businesses
- B&O Credit for Preproduction Development Expenditures
- B&O Credit for Property/Leasehold Taxes paid on Aerospace Manufacturing Facilities
- Sales & Use Tax Exemption for Aerospace Manufacturers for Computer Hardware/Software/Peripherals
