Distance to:

            Work – Seattle – 1 hr 30 min

                          Everett – 40 min

            Skiing - 30 min

            Boating – 20 to 35 min

Distinctions:  Nestled in the shadow of Mr. Pilchuck and between the Stillaguamish and Pilchuck rivers, Granite Falls is that perfect stop-over before or after a mountain excursion.  The charm of the community is enhanced by turn-of-the-century architecture, unique local shops and eateries, and a distinct western foothills atmosphere.

Big Four Ice Caves and the ghost town of Monte Cristo are popular destinations in July through September.  These caves are actually tunnels in the permanent ice of the avalanche snow filed below Big Four Mountain during summer.  The popular “Mountain Loop Magic” tour guide is available from the Granite Falls Chamber of Commerce.
