Bothell medical device maker Cardiac Science sees growth

Cardiac Science Corp. of Bothell said its first-quarter revenue totaled $49 million, 17 percent over the same period last year. Sales of the company's automated heart defibrillators alone grew by 27 percent from the year-ago period. That helped the company achieve net income of $2.1 million, or 9 cents per share in the quarter, compared with a net loss of $200,000 a year ago.

Sonosite says earnings grew by 22 percent

Sonosite, which marks its 10th anniversary as a public company this week, said its first-quarter revenue grew by 22 percent compared with the same period last year. The Bothell-Based maker of handheld ultrasound devices was spun off from ATL Ultrasound on April 6, 1998.

Combimatrix has a new test

CombiMatrix Corp. of Mukilteo said its molecular diagnostics subsidiary has launched a new genetic test, one designed to look for specific genes and genomic regions associated with more than 125 known genetic disorders.
