Providence Everett Medical Center Changes its Name
New name represents hospital’s evolution

Everett, WA -- Providence Everett Medical Center announces today its name change to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett. The new name reflects the organization’s status as a tertiary referral center serving a five-county region.

The word “regional” in the new name conveys the type of organization Providence has become: one with a wide range of resources, cutting-edge technology and highly skilled physicians and staff. “Everett” was kept in the name for continuity and community recognition.

"Providence Everett has grown beyond a community hospital, to a national, award-winning regional referral center,” says Dave Brooks, chief executive officer for the Northwest Washington Service Area of Providence Health & Services. “Our old name no longer fits who we are. Of equal importance, the new name will provide a strong foundation for our continued growth with the new medical tower scheduled to open in 2011.”

To accompany the new name, a new logo was created. The logo emphasizes the word “Providence,” and features a new rendering of the cross symbol and a rising sun to represent Providence’s eye to the future. The look is more contemporary, innovative and professional.
